Shelf Pop! – Privacy Policy
Shelf Pop! (“the game”) is a mobile puzzle game made by PM Technology (“PM Tech”, “we”, “us”) in Australia. This policy explains what information the game uses, who else receives it, and the choices you have.
In short: you don’t create an account and we never ask for your name, email or contacts. Your progress is saved on your own device; only your highest level, your stars and a made-up player name go to our leaderboard (section 4), and you can remove yourself from it at any time. The game is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob, and it offers optional in-app purchases handled by Apple or Google. Those partners receive some device information so they can do their job.
1. Information saved on your device
Your level, stars, boosters and settings (sound, vibration) are stored on your device. Apart from the leaderboard details in section 4, we don’t receive them. Whether you bought “Remove ads” or booster packs is also recorded for us by RevenueCat so purchases can be restored (see section 3). If your phone backs up app data (iCloud or Google backup), your save may be included in that backup under your own account. Deleting the game deletes the data on your device.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads using Google AdMob: optional reward videos you choose to watch, and short ads between some levels (you can remove the in-between ads with the “Remove ads” purchase). To show, measure and protect ads, Google’s software in the game may collect:
- device identifiers: the advertising identifier (on iPhone only if you allow tracking; on Android the Advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your phone’s settings) and an app- or developer-specific identifier (such as Apple’s identifier for vendors or Android’s App Set ID) that Google uses for fraud prevention, frequency capping and measurement, even when ads are not personalised;
- IP address and the approximate location worked out from it;
- device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version);
- how you interact with ads, and diagnostic and performance data.
Your choices. On iPhone, the game asks your permission before any tracking (App Tracking Transparency); you can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent through Google’s consent form, and you can change your answer at any time with Settings › Privacy options in the game. If you don’t agree to personalised ads you may still see non-personalised ads.
The game asks Google to show only ads suitable for a general audience.
Google’s use of this information is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
3. In-app purchases (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)
Purchases are paid through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. To check and restore purchases, the game uses RevenueCat, which receives the store’s purchase receipt, a random app user ID (not your name or email), and basic device and app information. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
4. Leaderboard
The game has a leaderboard that ranks players worldwide and by country. After you clear your first level (or when you open the leaderboard), the game sends our leaderboard server:
- a random player ID and secret code created by the game (not linked to your name, email, device or advertising identifiers);
- your player name and picture. You can’t type a name: the game makes one up from its own word list (for example “Happy Panda”), and you can pick a different one or a different picture from the game’s list;
- your highest level cleared and your total stars;
- your country, which the server works out from your IP address each time the game connects. The IP address is used only for that and to limit abuse; it is not stored.
Other players can see your player name, picture, country flag, level and stars. The server is run by us on Cloudflare, our hosting provider (Cloudflare privacy policy).
Your choice: in the game, open Leaderboard › Edit › Remove me from the leaderboard. Your entry is deleted from the server straight away and the game stops sending your progress until you choose to join again.
5. What we do not do
- We don’t ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- The game has no chat and no way to send messages or share your own content with other players; the leaderboard only shows the details listed in section 4.
6. Children
Shelf Pop! is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.
7. Sharing, where information is processed and how long it is kept
We only share information with the partners named in this policy (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, Cloudflare, and Apple or Google for purchases), only for the purposes described here, and each of them is required by its terms with us and by the App Store and Google Play rules to protect it at least as well as this policy describes. They may process it in countries other than yours, including the United States.
- On your device: kept until you delete the game.
- Purchase records (RevenueCat): kept while the game is offered so purchases can be restored, and deleted after a verified deletion request (see section 8).
- Leaderboard (Cloudflare): kept while you are on the leaderboard, and deleted as soon as you remove yourself (section 4). If we close the leaderboard or start a new one, the old entries are deleted.
- Advertising data (Google): kept for the periods in Google’s retention policy.
The leaderboard is the only server we run for the game; we don’t keep a copy of the advertising or purchase information ourselves.
8. Your rights and legal bases
Depending on where you live (for example under the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR, Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA) or US state privacy laws) you may have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to object to its use, or to withdraw your consent.
To access or delete your purchase record, email info@pm-tech.com.au with the order ID from your store receipt (Apple Order ID, or the Google Play order number starting with GPA.) so we can find it. For advertising data, use the controls in section 2 (reset or delete your advertising ID, or change your consent) or contact Google. To remove your leaderboard entry, use the button in the game (section 4); if you have already deleted the game, email us your player name, level and country and we will remove the matching entry.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland and Thailand): personalised ads, and storing or reading identifiers for advertising, rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (Settings › Privacy options in the game, or your iPhone’s Tracking settings); showing you on the leaderboard relies on our legitimate interest in offering it as part of the game, and you can remove yourself at any time; non-personalised ad delivery and fraud prevention rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game free and working well; checking and restoring purchases is needed to provide what you bought.
If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to your privacy regulator: in Australia the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), in Thailand the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee (pdpc.or.th), in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), or in the EU the data protection authority of your country.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you in the game or in the store listing.
