Metronome Map 2 – Privacy Policy

Effective 21 October 2026

Metronome Map 2 (“the app”) is a music practice app made by PM Technology (“we”, “us”) in Australia. This policy explains what information the app uses, who else receives it, and the choices you have.

In short: everything you create (songs, structures, notes, set lists) stays on your device unless you sign in and use the AI features or share a set list. If you use AI, the audio file you choose is uploaded to our server to be analysed and is deleted within 30 days. Signing in needs an email address. The free plan shows a short ad from Google AdMob when you open the app; Pro has no ads. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google.

1. Information saved on your device

Your songs, section maps, tempo, notes and drawings, cues you type or record with the microphone, set lists and settings are stored on your device. Audio files you attach and the stems produced by AI are also stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them (unless your phone’s own backup restores them).

2. Account and AI features (Supabase and our server on Modal)

To use AI beat detection and stem separation you sign in with an email address and password (or, if you start AI without signing in, the app creates an anonymous account with no email), stored by Supabase, our authentication provider (Supabase privacy policy). We keep your email, your plan (free or Pro), your monthly AI usage, a referral code and, to prevent abuse of the free quota, a random identifier for your device.

When you run AI on a song, the audio file is uploaded to our server, hosted by Modal in the United States, which produces the beat grid, sections and stems. Uploaded audio and results are deleted from the server automatically within 30 days (the app downloads the results to your device as soon as they are ready). We do not use your audio for anything else and do not use it to train models.

The app never downloads or analyses audio from YouTube. YouTube links only open the official YouTube player inside the app, which is subject to Google’s privacy policy.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob) — free plan only

Free accounts that have used AI in the current month see one short ad when opening the app, at most once every 2 hours. To show, measure and protect ads, Google’s software in the app may collect:

Your choices. On iPhone, the app asks your permission before any tracking (App Tracking Transparency); you can change this at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent through Google’s consent form. If you don’t agree to personalised ads you may still see non-personalised ads. Pro removes ads entirely.

Google’s use of this information is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

4. In-app purchases (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)

Pro subscriptions and song top-ups are paid through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. To check and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives the store’s purchase receipt, your account ID (not your email), and basic device and app information. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.

5. Microphone, camera and photos

The microphone is used only when you record a spoken cue; the camera and photo library only when you add a picture of lyrics or a chart to a song’s notes. These recordings and pictures stay on your device, unless you include them when you share a set list (section 6).

6. Sharing a set list

When you tap Share set with a friend, the app uploads a copy of that set list to Supabase storage so anyone you send the link to can open it: the set name and order, each song’s title, tempo, sections, typed cues and markers and, if you leave them switched on, your note pages (drawings and pictures) and recorded cues. Your own audio files and stems are never included. The copy is linked to your account and can be opened by anyone who has the link (the link contains a random code and is not listed anywhere). It is deleted automatically after 30 days, or earlier when you delete your account. To remove a link sooner, email us with the link.

7. Invite friends

If you share your referral code and a friend enters it, we record that the two accounts are linked so we can grant the credits. We do not access your contacts.

8. What we do not do

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Sharing, where information is processed and how long it is kept

We only share information with the partners named in this policy (Supabase, Modal, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Apple or Google for purchases), only for the purposes described here. They may process it in countries other than yours, including the United States.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR, Thailand’s PDPA or US state privacy laws) you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to its use, or to withdraw consent. To delete your account and everything linked to it, open the app and tap Settings › Delete account (or email info@pm-tech.com.au from the address you signed up with). For advertising data, use the controls in section 3 or contact Google. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to your privacy regulator (Australia: oaic.gov.au · Thailand: pdpc.or.th · UK: ico.org.uk · EU: your national authority).

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for important changes we will tell you in the app or in the store listing.
